Her areas of specialty include migration, gender, family, work, and social inequality. In 2023-2024, she will be a&nbsp;Stanford-Taiwan Social Science Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University.&nbsp;She currently serves as the deputy editor for Gender &amp; Society (2023-2026) and editorial board member for several international journals. She was a Yenching-Radcliffe fellow at Harvard University, a Fulbright scholar at New York University, a visiting professor at the Waseda Institute for Advanced Study, Kyoto University, and Tubingen University, IIAS at Leiden University, and a postdoctoral fellow at UC Berkeley.
