我的研究主要探討全球力量,如經濟重組、移民和社會文化變革,與國家政策的互動,從而影響亞洲地區的性別關係和家庭結構。我採用了定性和定量研究方法,以探討婚姻形成過程、家庭動態、生育決策等問題,並深入研究了流動性、政治爭議和政治壓迫等複雜關係,以及家庭在應對社會變革時的角色。我熱衷於進行實地調查和人口統計研究,並堅信透過混合的研究方法來創造新的知識和見解。

我最新的研究涉及兩個方向:

  1. 香港人的(不)移民和流動研究

透過時間序列分析,我剖析香港人的移民意圖與抗議行動之間在不同時間段的關係。這涉及受訪者對政治風險、政治效能感、不滿程度、社會網絡、個人移民成本等因素的自我感知,以及這些因素隨時間的變化。此外,我還關注了從香港移居至台灣、加拿大、英國和澳洲的香港人,並分析了當地人口結構、政策和文化對他們選擇居住國家的影響。最後,我深入研究了留在香港的人,例如家長和教育工作者,他們在國安法下以低調而富創意的方式進行抗議。在高壓的統治下,他們以非對抗性的手法抵制政府對知識的建構。

  1. 亞洲少子化的研究

在少子化和家庭政策的研究中,我與國際團隊合作,比較了香港、台灣和新加坡年輕人的結婚和生育意願決策。我們認為在這些亞洲背景下,子女仍然具有持續的價值,但人們的理想子女數量是否能夠實現取決於個體層面和政策層面的條件,以及與育兒和性別規範有關的文化因素。我們以多層次的觀點作出分析,也認為政策需適應每個地區的具體情況和文化規範。另外,特別是在台灣,我的研究還關注婚姻制度是否正在去制度化,並探討了單身和已婚人士對婚姻和單身的態度和行為,以及不同性別、教育背景和生活階段之間的交匯體驗。
